Virtual Assistants Ireland

Interviews might seem daunting for many but going into the situation being prepared and with a positive mindset will give you a sense of ease. The client will be excited about the prospect of having a VA joining their team, so it is important that you too show your enthusiasm and don’t let the nerves get the better of you. It is an opportunity for the client to get to know you and the services you offer, so you want to give them a lasting impression and make them see why you are the best fit for this position.

Pre-Interview Call

Before the interview with your potential future client, a quick call with Virtual Assistants Ireland will take place. A team member from Virtual Assistants Ireland will use this time to prepare you for the interview and run you through the job spec, they will inform you what the client is looking for, what type of work they do and what tasks you would be expected to execute.

You will also be brought through the hourly rate of pay and they will explain how payment is made, should you get the role. It is during this call that you can ask any questions you might have ahead of the interview so do ensure you have made a list of anything you might need clarity on.

Preparation

It’s a saying you’ve heard one hundred times over but one that never gets old - fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Interview preparation is key! Before the interview, make a list of your unique selling points and establish what you can offer the client. Take time to thoroughly read through the job spec and understand what the client is looking for. Don’t forget to review your CV once again before jumping onto the interview, it may not be something you’ve properly looked at since you first submitted it and the client more than likely will have it in front of them so make sure it’s fresh in your mind.

The interview will be conducted via video call, on a platform such as Zoom, Google Meets or Skype. Ensure you’re set up with an account on whatever platform Virtual Assistants Ireland has arranged the interview on and have no issues accessing calls.

During The Interview

A member of the Virtual Assistants Ireland team will be facilitating the call and will introduce you to the client. This is the moment you’ve been preparing for so have confidence in yourself and your ability, after all, you were selected for the interview for a reason!

There will be an opportunity to ask the client any questions you might have about their company and what they need, this typically takes place at the end of the interview. Preparing two or three questions in advance is really beneficial just in case nothing springs to mind after the interview. These questions have the ability to differentiate you from other candidates, convey your interest and show have done your research on the company.
